In 2016, Augusta voters approved the Pride and Progress Initiative to extend the local 1% sales tax through 2026. This vote demonstrates Augusta’s commitment to enhancing our quality of life with strategic investments in our local parks, streets, utility systems and airport. Several improvements have already been completed, some are now under way and more are planned over the next few years. These taxpayer investments lay the foundation for a more livable Augusta.
Augusta Action is the next step in shaping our future. It is a collaborative process to establish a community-building framework. Citizens will be engaged to share our aspirations, imagine our future potential and consider our path forward. Our collaboration will produce a plan to accomplish goals and objectives, along with the tools to guide development toward our desired future. Success will ultimately be measured by outcomes. So by design, Augusta Action encompasses future implementation actions and monitoring ongoing progress.
